I'll give you a tour of the bathroom in the house I built in Osamis, Philippines. |

| Plenty of hot water. Even with 65-degree Celsius water filling the bathtub, there's still plenty of water left for a shower. Soaking up to my shoulders in a bath with bath salts I bought in Cebu makes me feel relaxed and at ease. This bath has a little something special about it. Actually, I couldn't get my hands on a deep Japanese-style bathtub, so I got an American-style reclining type. Also, the drain knob is set to overflow, so the water only fills up to 15 cm below the full capacity. So, the overflow pipe has been sealed with adhesive. So you can enjoy a Japanese-style bath where the water overflows from the bathtub with a splash.  |

| Indai-san has been working as a caregiver for us since June. Apparently, 'Indai' means "youngest daughter," so it's a nickname, and Mary Jin is her real name. She lives with Stein and does everything from cleaning, laundry, and cooking to taking care of Lily and Loroy, all for 1300 pesos a month. Considering that Vecky was earning 2000 pesos a month for about 4 hours of work in Cebu in 2007, you can see how high the pay was. At night, I sleep in the same room as Raisa Jian Jinny. I can't speak English, so I get instructions mainly through Gigi.  |
