Cavalier Lily's Diary: Mango Harvest.(2009/01/10)
Cavalier, Lily
This day last year...
January 10, 2008.
Hello everyone, it's been a while.

The entire city of Osamis experienced a power outage on January 11th.
Electricity, and everything that relies on it, such as ATMs, telephones, FM radio stations, and the internet, has become unusable.

According to information obtained later, the power line tower was destroyed by anti-Ayoro forces, and it is expected to take more than 10 days to repair.
The cycle of 2 hours of power on followed by 2 hours of blackout is severely impacting daily life.

However, most houses have wells, manual pumps, and either propane gas or firewood, so it seems that people are not immediately facing any difficulties in their daily lives, and the town as a whole remains remarkably calm.
This is a mango tree.
These trees are being managed with each one covered in a white bag.

It's harvest time, so people are climbing up and picking each fruit one by one, then putting them into baskets to harvest.
The harvested mangoes are taken out of their bags one by one, visually inspected for quality, sorted, wrapped in newspaper, and packed into boxes.
They are apparently shipped to Manila and Cebu, and will become ripe and yellow in about three days.
So, Gigi and I are now moving from searching for land to signing a purchase agreement.
This is a scene where I receive documents from the rice paddy owner and make a payment.
The people on both sides sign the documents and verify the money as witnesses to the transaction.
After that, Gigi went around to notary offices and other offices and completed the transfer procedures herself.
Gigi is signing documents with a serious expression at a law firm.
This is for purchasing residential land.
Rice paddies are part of this landscape.
It's about the same size as the five rice paddies in the foreground, but it's way in the middle, far in the distance.
It's been raining, so I haven't visited yet.
This is a residential plot, 300m².2.It's a bit small, but it's 250,000 Peso (approximately 581,395 yen).
It's a quiet and safe area, located a little way off the main road.
The house is about this size.
The architect who designed this house will be in charge of this project.
