Cavalier Lily's DiaryCar purchase (2008/12/06) Cavalier, Lily	This day last year... December 6, 2007.
I started looking for a car the day after I arrived in Cebu. There are many used car dealerships in Cebu, but even used Japanese cars with modified steering wheels are quite expensive. Moreover, directly imported Toyota, Nissan, and Honda cars cost over 1 million pesos (2 million yen), so they're out of my reach. That's when I found GM's Chevrolet Although it's four years old, the price of 400,000 pesos (approximately 800,000 yen) was slightly over my budget, but considering potential future problems, I thought it was a reasonable choice.
The previous owner must have taken great care of it, as both the exterior and interior are truly in pristine condition.
Today, the day of handover, I immediately took Gigi and Lily for a drive. That said, I did ask Jessica to teach me some driving techniques in Cebu. What surprised me was that you're absolutely not allowed to stop even if a pedestrian is trying to cross the street at a crosswalk. Apparently, it's because there's a risk of being rear-ended by the car behind you. 'You might be a safe driver in Japan, but that won't cut it here.', Hmm, I have mixed feelings.
The interior was also really clean, and Gigi was very satisfied. Gigi will be taking her final driving lesson in this car tomorrow, December 8th.
For a four-year-old car with this mileage, it's pretty good.
