My daughter Jinny, who is also Zion's mother, had an asthma attack on the evening of Friday, October 2, and was admitted to hospital.

When Jinny joined our family in 2008, I was told that she had a history of asthma. However, she had not had an attack since then, so I had completely forgotten about it.

Jinny is now three months pregnant. I understand that getting enough oxygen to the mother's body is also important for the baby. Her symptoms are settling down, but her doctor is keeping her in hospital for observation as a precaution.

Jinny is receiving an intravenous infusion of potassium chloride. She says the infusion site feels painful and stings, which is very uncomfortable for her.

Zion will turn five on October 27. He now seems to understand that his mom is in hospital.

A year ago, Zion would quickly burst into tears whenever his mom was not nearby. Compared with those days, I can see how much he has grown.

Zion sometimes comes to my room and plays games on my laptop. I am impressed by how he clears one difficult-looking game after another. It is another little reminder of how much he is growing.
