Cavalier Lily's Diary: Mango Harvest(2018/12/12)
A mango farm purchased in 2011.
The mango plantation covers approximately 13,700 square meters and has 70 mango trees.
The land is priced at around 1.5 million pesos (approximately 3.39 million yen).

This is a mango tree.

The mangoes in the mango farm are ready for harvest.
Three months ago, the broker sprayed it with a chemical to promote flowering.

Mango trees are sprayed with a special spray when they want to bloom.
The middleman handles all the work, and the owner just sleeps and waits.
The owner's share is about 40% of the harvest.

Sometimes heavy rain or strong winds can completely destroy the flowers and fruits.
This method offers a smaller share for the owner but carries less risk.

When the small fruits start to form, I put a bag made of newspaper around each one.

This photo shows the harvested mangoes being removed from their bags and checked one by one for any damage.

The middleman handles everything from managing the mango trees to harvesting and selling them. The landowner just has to wait.
Even if heavy rain falls immediately after spraying or if there is damage from birds, the owner suffers absolutely no financial loss.

They are weighing the mangoes in a basket.

The sorting process is ongoing.
Finally, they are packed into boxes and taken away by middlemen.
Most of them are transported to Cebu and sold in supermarkets and other stores.
